Field and Section Validation

You are here:

Sintel Forms allows you to add validation to fields and sections on a form, ensuring that users enter required information correctly.

Field Validation

To make a field mandatory:

  1. Open Sintel Forms from the ribbon menu and navigate to the Layout screen.
  2. Select the field you want to validate (e.g., a Person field).
  3. In the Properties Panel on the right, set the State to “Mandatory”.
  4. Save the changes and test the form. The field will now require input before submission.

Once it’s selected use the Properties Panel on the right to set its State to “Mandatory”.

Section Validation

To make an entire section mandatory:

  1. Open Sintel Forms and go to the Layout screen.
  2. Select the section you want to validate.
  3. In the Properties Panel, set the State to “Mandatory”.
  4. Save and test your changes.

When a section is set to mandatory, all fields within it must be filled before submission.

Overriding Section Validation

Even if a section is marked as mandatory, individual fields within it can have different validation rules. This allows for flexibility—some fields in a mandatory section can be optional if needed.

By configuring validation correctly, you ensure that users complete necessary fields while maintaining flexibility in your form design.
