Sintel Forms Is Now Sintel Apps – What You Need to Do

Sintel Forms has now been upgraded and renamed to Sintel Apps.

This is more than a name change. Sintel Apps is the new, modern version of Sintel Forms built using the SharePoint Framework (SPFx).

To continue receiving updates and future enhancements, you will need to migrate your existing forms to the new version.

Why this change is happening

Microsoft is retiring older SharePoint Add-In models in favour of the SharePoint Framework (SPFx), which is now the standard development model for modern SharePoint.

Sintel BI was already built using SPFx.

Sintel Forms has now been rebuilt using the same framework. This ensures:

• Long-term Microsoft support

• Improved performance

• Modern SharePoint compatibility

• Future extensibility

To reflect this upgrade, Sintel Forms is now called Sintel Apps.

How Sintel Apps differs from Sintel Forms

At this stage:

• Sintel Apps and Sintel BI remain separate products

• Licensing remains unchanged

• They are not yet merged into one platform

This update simply aligns both products under the same modern Microsoft framework.

What Hasn’t Changed

• Your existing SharePoint lists

• Your form data

• Your workflows (they will automatically be rebuilt during migration)

• Your licensing model

What action you need to take

To move from using Sintel Forms to Sintel Apps, you must upgrade your forms.

Your forms will not automatically switch over from Sintel Forms to Sintel Apps, however the good news is that we provide a simple upgrade wizard that performs this for you.

The upgrade wizard is available within the Sintel Apps Designer and can be used to automatically rebuild your existing form configuration in Sintel Apps with affecting your existing forms.

Below is a summary of how it works:

1. Install Sintel Apps on your SharePoint site.
2. Open the app and select your existing configuration when prompted.
3. The system rebuilds your form in the new designer as a preview.
4. Review any migration notifications.
5. Click Save when you are ready to make it live.

Nothing changes for users until you click Save in the new Sintel Apps Designer. Once you click Save, the Sintel Apps configuration takes over the list and replaces your previous Sintel Forms configuration.
