Sintel Apps Designer – Settings Tab (Overview)

This article gives you an overview of the settings available on Sintel Apps designer

Features

The Features section allows you to enable or disable core Sintel Apps functionality for the form.

Available Features

  • Sintel Forms
Enables the Sintel Apps form interface and replaces the standard SharePoint form experience.
  • Logic
Enables the Logic tab for creating rules and conditions.
  • Workflow
Enables the Workflow tab for building approval and status flows.

Disabling a feature hides the related tab from the designer and prevents its use on the form.

List Settings

The List settings section controls how the underlying SharePoint list behaves.

Options include:

  • Display on the Quick Launch
Choose whether the list appears in the site navigation.
  • Version history
Enable or disable versioning for list items.
  • Attachments
Enable or disable file attachments on the form.

These settings mirror standard SharePoint list behaviour but are managed directly from the Sintel Apps Designer.

Form Viewer

The Form viewer section controls how users interact with the form.

Key options:

  • Enable concurrent access
Allows multiple users to edit the same form at the same time.
This prevents “form locked for editing” messages but may result in overwritten values if users edit the same fields.
  • After save/action redirect to
Define where users are redirected after saving or completing an action.
If left as Default, users are returned to the standard list experience.
  • After close redirect to
Choose the URL to which users will be redirected after clicking the exit button

PDF Export

The PDF export section controls whether users can export a form as a PDF.

Options include:

  • Enable PDF export
Allows users to download a PDF version of the form.
  • Mode
    • Portrait – suitable for standard documents
    • Landscape – better for wide forms or large tables

Conversations

The Conversations setting enables threaded discussions on form items.

When enabled:

  • Users can add comments to a form
  • Comments are visible within the form interface
  • Conversations are linked to the specific item

This is useful for collaboration and audit trails.

After Save Script

The After save script option allows you to run custom JavaScript after a form is saved.

Key points:

  • This is an advanced feature
  • Intended for experienced users or developers
  • Scripts run after the form save action completes

If you do not require custom scripting, this option should remain disabled.

External Access

The External access section controls how users outside your SharePoint environment interact with the form.

External Submissions

  • Enable external submissions
Allows users without SharePoint access to submit the form.
  • External submission link
Generated after the form is saved.
  • After external submission redirect to
Define a custom page users are redirected to after submission.
  • Show captcha for external submissions
    Recommended to prevent spam.

External Collaboration

  • Enable external collaboration
Allows external users to edit existing forms.
  • Send confirmation email to submitter
Sends an email with a secure link allowing the external user to access the form again.

Note: Email template customisation is currently not supported.

External Sharing (Preview / Limited)

Some external sharing options are visible but marked as not supported yet. These settings should remain disabled unless advised otherwise.

External Access Settings

These settings apply only when external users access the form.

People Picker Behaviour

  • Control whether user-related information is visible to external users
  • Defaults to Hidden for security

Widget Visibility

  • Control visibility of widgets such as Workflow History
  • Defaults to Hidden for external users

License

The License section displays licensing information for Sintel Apps.

  • View current license status
  • Confirm feature availability

Upgrade from Sintel Forms

If the form was originally created using Sintel Forms, this section allows you to:

  • Check whether an upgrade is available
  • Upgrade the form configuration to Sintel Apps

This process preserves existing form structure where possible.

Key Things to Know

  • Changes in the Settings tab affect the entire form
  • Disabling Logic or Workflow will disable those tabs, which can be helpful for certain testing scenarios.
  • External access should be enabled cautiously
  • PDF export and conversations are optional but commonly used features
